Speed Strength Safety

Client Profile: Auto-Haus Hamilton & Shane Smollen

Shane Smollen is successfully competing in the City Index Porsche Carrera Cup Australia. Envirage is providing race engineering support at each of the events and test days. The Cupcar suspension geometry was measured completely and a full kinematic analysis was completed to uncover details such as roll-centre migration, anti-pitch, lateral load transfer distribution as well as basics such as roll stiffness to compare the relative effects on the handling of the car. The team now has, at their disposal, a complete picture of the effects to the balance and stability of the car when changes are made to the ride-height, anti-roll bar settings and cross-weights.

Shane is also receiving driver coaching at the circuit as well as at home on his bespoke simulator, built by Envirage. As part of the preparation for every event, Shane spends up to 10 hours on the simulator, working on his driving lines, gears and more self-improvement objectives such as correct brake-pedal release, looking ahead, building consistency and staying concentrated.
